Renewing the Rivalry

Already this season, the Yankees and Red Sox have played seven really exciting games. The hitting has been great, along with the pitching. These guys are all fun to watch, and I can't wait for the remaining games these two teams play this season.

The last few years, this rivalry hasn't seemed as exciting, even though there is so much history between these teams.

One day until spring training!

Today is February 13th, one day before the Yankees start Spring Training. One day after Derek Jeter announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2014 season. I can't say I'm surprised. The Captain isn't getting any younger, and it wasn't that long ago that he said he had plans for when he retires. I wish him the best. This will mark the end of an era for the Yankees. I know that sounds trite, but it's very much true. The off season moves made by Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman were....interesting. Some acquisitions made sense - Carlos Beltran for one. Others, I'm not so sure. Is Masahiro Tanaka going to be worth the money? Stay tuned!
